Wednesday, 22 March 2017Dear Parents and Carers,
As many of you have now noticed, our Anomaly board is now up and running on the playground. The staff have now received training on how to update the various sections on the board, so make sure you keep having a look to see any latest news items or photographs of recent events.
Orange Room Cubes in the Jar
I am delighted to tell you that Orange Room have filled their jar of cubes right up to the line! Cubes are awarded for super behaviour and excellent work, and we are all very proud of Orange Room. For their treat they have chosen to go into the Gallery on Friday afternoon for some choosing time.
Just a reminder that Mrs Fryer’s group (F1b) chose to have a ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ tomorrow for their treat, so please can the children bring a teddy in to school tomorrow morning.
Comic Relief 2017
On Friday it is ‘Red Nose Day’ for Comic Relief. Thank you to everyone who bought red noses (we know we sold out really quickly and will order more next year!) On Friday, to join in with Comic Relief, we would like the children to come to school in non-uniform, wearing their red noses or other Comic Relief accessories. If you would like to donate £1 to the cause, please send your donation in to school with your child, we are aware that lots of you have already bought red noses or donated to Comic Relief though, so there is no obligation.
Little Bramley’s i-pad Club
Next term Little Bramley’s Club will be running again on Friday lunchtimes. If your child has been taking part in i-pad club this term, they will bring a letter home about next term’s club. Please note that there are different charges for Y1 and Y2 children due to the Residential visits.
If your child hasn’t been to i-pad club this term, but would like to join in, please call in to the School Office to collect a form.
Southwell & District Lions Club Photographic Competition
The Southwell & District Lions Club are holding a photographic competition for children, teenagers and adults. There are cash prizes to be won, and the closing date is on Sunday, 30 April. For more information please see the sign in our noticeboard.
Minster Multi-Academy Trust
Earlier this term I informed you that the Governors investigations into the proposal to become an Academy with a view to joining the Minster Multi-Academy Trust had been postponed due to proposed changes to school funding. I am pleased to tell you that we are now in a position to restart our investigations and will be formally consulting with all stakeholders after the Easter Holiday.
Easter Egg Rolling Competition
Next week we will once again be holding our “Egg rolling” competitions! The children need to bring a hard-boiled egg to school on Monday, 27 March. They will decorate this egg in school, and later in the week we will go into the hall to try and win an Easter egg by rolling the hard-boiled eggs at the target! There will be a small prize for everyone who takes part.
Family Easter Service
On Tuesday, 28 March we will be holding our Family Easter Service in Southwell Minster at 9.30am.
Parents and carers are invited to join us in the Minster, and children in F1b are very welcome to come and join us for the service.
Easter Hat Parade
Don’t forget that on Friday, 31 March (the last day of term) it’s our “Easter Hat Parade”.
We would like the children to make or decorate an Easter Hat to wear for the parade. The hat can be any type you want – a bonnet, a crown, a cap or even a pair of Bunny Ears and decorated in any way you like to reflect Spring or Easter. We are always amazed at the lovely creations that are on display! The children need to bring their Easter Hat to school on that day, and we will parade around school at 2.30pm so that you can all admire the creations! The FSA will once again be selling refreshments so you can grab a coffee while you wait for the parade to begin.
There has been some confusion about uniform for that day – so please may I confirm that we expect the children to wear their normal school uniform on Friday, 31 March, but don’t forget their Easter Hat! Children in F1a are very welcome to come and join us for the parade, just bring them to the School Office at 2.15pm with their Easter Hat.
Spaghetti Maths Club
After Easter we are going to be offering a new club – ‘Spaghetti Maths’. On Wednesday, 29 March the Spaghetti Maths Company will be in school to do an assembly presentation to the children. The children will then be given information about the club to bring home for parents and carers.
Finally with this newsletter there are letters for those children already in i-pad club, and a letter for Y1 and Y2 about School Choir next term.
Thank you for your continued support,
